Facts
• C:a 50 persons change sex in Sweden each year. 60% become new women, 40% new men.
• About 500 people have changed sex in Sweden since 1972 when sex change was regulated in law and 100 - 150 before that.
• Sweden was the first country in the world that legislated about legal sex change 1972. Since then has more than 50 countries followed.
• Treatment of transsexuals are profiting for the community because it helps transsexuals to become useful members of the community.
• Transsexuals has a deviation that affects the brain development during infant. The brains of men and women differentiates partly atomically and those who changes sex have shown to have the same anatomy as those born into the sex they changes to.
• We transsexuals feel insulted by the word "transperson", because it compares us with men or women who just dresses up. Additionally this means that we are seen in terms of a medical decease - like if persons that have had cancer were "cancer persons".
• Transsexualism is not a sexual deviation and has nothing to do with either homosexuality or transvestitism.
• In Europe there are only two countries left that not allows lawful sex change, Andorra and Albania.

PF Benjamin supports persons that are on the way to get or already have got the diagnosis transsexualism. This through direct personal support and through lobbying work to the Swedish decision makers.

PF Benjamin is a Swedish non-profit association, completely separate from authorities and health care. As personal support are we offering for example on-call duty phone and mail, of course confidential and with strict secrecy. See Contact.

We are women and men

In Sweden and Norway as well as many other countries there are a debate about female and male gender identity. We and our Norwegian counterpart HBRS sees clearly on this matter and don't want to end up in an "in between" category, we are women and men period.
